He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering of Amravati University (1997), Post-Graduate in Machine Design from Mumbai University (2003) and he is awarded PhD from VNIT, Nagpur (2014). He is also approved PhD supervisor of RTMNU, Nagpur.

He is presently teaching subjects of B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering like Additive & Digital manufacturing, Product Life-cycle Management, Mechanical Vibrations. And for M. Tech he is teaching Bioinspired Robotics, Integrated Advanced Manufacturing, Internet of Things (IoT). Dr. Vishal Shukla, has published 28 research papers in international journals & conferences, 7 patents and 1 Book. He was a session chair in five international conferences and reviewer of 4 international journals. He has fetched a grant of Rs. 2.81 lakh for design, development & manufacturing of Wind Mill fall arrest system from GSTC-TIFAC-MSME Scheme. He has completed consultancy projects and technical trainings of Rs. 2.55 lakh. He is also a member of various committees of RTMNU.

He has guided and supervised about 12 PG Projects. He has delivered 25+ guest/expert lectures at various Institutes. He has delivered training on operations and maintenance of EOT Cranes for some of the local Industries (Hindalco Mouda). He is a member of 5 professional societies. He was an organizing secretary of International Conference on Advances in Energy Research (ICACER) held by RCOEM in March 2019.

Dr. Shukla is advisor and technical consultant for vetting, installation & commissioning of Auto MRL and Hydraulic Lifts. He has also expertise in installation & commissioning of PV Roof Top solar power plant over (885 kWp).

Further, Dr. Shukla provides help, support and mentoring for start-ups at Technical Business Incubation and Skill development Trainings in Industry 4.0 technologies like, Product Design & Development, Design Thinking, CAD-CAM-FEA-CAE-CFD-PDD-PLM, Bamboo products, customized prostheses design & manufacture and hands-on skills on 3-D Printing & Scanning etc.
