Master of Computer Applications is a three year course,
divided in six semesters. It has a sanctioned intake of 120
students, that is, 60 each in morning and evening shifts.
Program Objectives
- The programme is designed to build a strong
academic foundation of the students as well as to cater the needs of the IT industry.
- Students acquire knowledge in core computer subjects as well as in software development, soft and critical thinking skills.
- Emphasis is given on overall personality development of the students. The curriculum consists of different electives for the students to choose according to their field of interest. The mandatory six monthly industrial project
provides students with the necessary practical exposure.
Placement potential
- The course has a wide acceptance and offers excellent career opportunities in various industries including software development companies in the areas of System analysis/design/developments/supports ,mobile application programming, game programming, web /e- commerce development, database administration, software testing, education and training.

Department of Computer Applications
Department of Computer Applications, established in
2001, offers a three-year postgraduate degree course in
Computer Applications (MCA). Students from this
Department are amongst the top ten in almost every
examination conducted by RTM Nagpur University. It has
three independent computer laboratories equipped with
facilities like LAN, internet and advanced software
for projects and research works. The department has a well-
stocked library with large number of books as well as
national and international journals. Students are
encouraged to participate in various technical as well as
non-technical events at interdepartmental, collegiate
state and national levels.
Faculty
It has a team of well qualified and experienced faculty
members. The faculty is working in varied specialized
fields such as Natural Language Processing, Data Mining,
Image Processing, Mobile Forensic etc.,
Industry Interaction and Research
The Department has strong a Industry Institute
interaction, under which expert guidance on various topics
are provided to the students. It has also signed MOUs with
various software companies under which students carry
out industrial projects. This year, the Final Year students
were assisted in their projects by industry. Students also got
a stipend for the projects they undertook.
Placement and Alumni
The alumni of this Department are well placed in
companies like Informatica, KPIT, TCS, Infosys, Accenture
Wipro and many more.
