Dr. V.S. Deshpande is a Mechanical Engineer with long-standing experience in research and development. He has published 40 research papers in national and international journals and has presented more than 80 research papers in national and international conferences and seminars. Dr. Deshpande has successfully completed six consultancy projects. He is the Chairman of Indian Institution of Industrial Engineers, Nagpur Chapter and life member of ISTE, Institution of Engineers (India) and YHAI. He is also active member of Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI). Under this forum he has organized workshops, competitions where he professed the need for achieving high quality standards. He is also a reviewer for international journal of Reliability Engineering & System Safety as well as Journal of Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery. He is also Member of Editorial Board of Industrial Engineering Journal. He has been identified for empanelment as Expert Volunteer/Evaluator for the visiting teams for Accreditation as per the new format based on ABET accreditation by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.
Dr. Deshpande is a recognized Ph.D. guide in RTM Nagpur University and SG Amravati University. He has successfully guided 4 research students for Ph.D. Presently seven research students are pursuing their doctoral degree under his guidance. His areas of interest are Quality Management, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering. He is a certified lead auditor for ISO 9001-2000 and has provided consultancy in the field of Quality Management System. He is honoured with Dr. S.R.Gollapudi Award for excellent contribution to Technical Education for 2008-09 by Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering. IIIE Nagpur Chapter won the
KRISHNA PENNATHUR SHIELDfor best Chapter for the year 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 under his Chairmanship. During his tenure as Principal of Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College is honoured with
H.N. THADANI AWARD 2009-10 instituted by Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai (IIIE) for organizational excellence. IIIE conferred fellowship on Dr. V.S. Deshpande in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Industrial Engineering profession. The College is also honoured with “National Employability Award” for the year 2011-12 by Aspiring Minds. It is due to these achievements, he is honoured with IDEAL PRINCIPAL AWARD from RTM Nagpur University for the year 2012.

in our college with the best of staff, faculties and facilities to impart
technical excellence to our students who will be the architects of technological
development and society.
The college is having an excellent record of providing sincere and hardworking
engineers with clear conception, adorable personalities and leadership skills
which is evident from our alumni database. Our alumni are placed all over the
globe in variety of fields and traits. Even many a students go for studying
abroad from our institute to prestigious universities in U.S. and Australia for
post graduate programmes.
The college gives due importance to extracurricular activities in academic, arts
and sports fields and recognizes these traits as personality development
measures and inseparable ingredients of personality. Our students excel in
intercollegiate and University competitions in extracurricular events. College
also conducts personality development programmes, guest lectures in general and
technical areas for continuous improvement of students and faculty.
Training and placement department of our college helps students in making them
aware about the various job opportunities in their respective fields with the
aid in applying for the jobs and conducts campus interviews to recruit them when
they are in final year of their graduation.
Our aim is to impart the best of the knowledge and technical know how to our
students with well equipped extracurricular and emotional quotient related
inputs, and the desire and ability to learn, lead and excel to make them
