Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has adjudged Dr. V.S.Deshpande, Principal of Shri Rameobaba College of Engineering and Management (SRCOEM) as Ideal Principal. He
was conferred upon the award on August 4 at 11 am during university foundation programme.
Dr. Deshpande is a Mechanical Engineer with long-standing experience in research and development. He has published 40 research papers in national and international journals and has presented more than 80 research papers in national and international conferences and seminars. Dr. Deshpande has successfully completed six consultancy projects.
He is the Chairman of Indian Institution of Industrial Engineers (IIIE), Nagpur chapter and life member of ISTE, Institution of Engineers (India) and YHAI. He is also the active member of Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI). Under this forum, he has organized workshops, competitions where he professed the need for achieving high quality standards.
Dr. Deshpande is also a reviewer for international journal of Reliability Engineering and System Safety. He is recognized PhD guide in RTMNU and Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. Presently seven research students are pursuing their doctoral degree under his guidance. His areas of interest are Quality Management, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering. He is a certified lead auditor for ISO 9001-2000 and has provided consultancy in the field of Quality Management System.
He is honoured with Dr. S.R.Gollapudi Award for excellent contribution to Technical Education for 2008-09 by IIIE. IIIE, Nagpur chapter won the Krishna Pennathur Shield for best chapter for the year 2009-10 and 2010-11 under his Chairmanship.
During his tenure as Principal of SRCOEM is honoured with H.N.Thadani Award 2009-10 instituted by IIIE Mumbai for organizational excellence. IIIE conferred fellowship on Dr. V.S.Deshpande in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Industrial Engineering profession. The College received National Employability Award for the year 2011-12.
