Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management is not only known for its high academic standards but it is committed to ameliorating the standards of the society as a whole. In an attempt to outreach to the society various departments of the college organise social, cultural and spiritual activities. Students are motivated to contribute to various social causes. College realises that community service is one of the essential element of true education.

Mega Blood Donation Camp at RCOEM

Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, organised Mega Blood Donation Camp today in the College premises. The college organises blood donation camp annually as part of its Institutional social responsibility. The camp was organised in association with Dr. Hedgewar Blood Bank with contribution from College Management, students of all the Departments of Engineering, Management, MCA and NSS Volunteers. The Blood Donation Camp witnessed a count of 360 donors with a registration of 500 people which included students, teaching and non-teaching staff with active participation of people of Nagpur. The event ended up with words of appreciation and encouragement by His Excellency Shri Banwarilalji Purohit, Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu.
The event was also graced by Shri Shyamsundar Rathi, Shri Govindlalji Agrawal, Shri Rajendra Purohit, Shri Ashokkumar Pacheriwala, Adv. Pradip Agrawal and Principal RCOEM, Dr. Rajesh Pande.

The event was organised from 9 am to 4 pm in the Ramdeobaba college premises under the teacher guidance- Prof. Vishal Mehta, Prof. Ashlesh Jaiswal, Dr. Amit Anurag, Prof. Ashish Urade, Prof Swati Moghe, Prof. Saket Kanetkar and students-Yash Singhania, Shrutika Patel, Sanjeet Muley, Ayush Singh, Tejas Nakhate, Ashwin Deshmukh, Tanuj Tiwari, Engineering, Management department and NSS

JASHN 2017

Department of Management Technology (DMT), Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur organized Jashn 2017 – Let’s Live it Together in the college campus recently. ECO FRIENDLY GANESH IDOL OF RCOEM WINS FIRST PRIZE

Prioritizing protection of environment as a key concern, the College on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi this year, has made an attempt to install Ganapati idol made from potash alum, also known as fitkari, which is commonly used in Indian households to clean water and make it potable.

After its immersion this idol will clean the water body and the colour used in it won’t pollute the environment unlike other harmful colours. The Environment friendly nature of this idol which does not have any adverse impact on environment has garnered appreciation and attention nationwide. As a result, many well-known media houses like NDTV and Zee News did a special coverage to highlight this different attempt which has set a bench mark for CLEAN & GREEN Nagpur. Read More

Ramkatha and Hanuman katha discourse by Vijay Kaushalji Maharaj at RCOEM:-

In order to promote and spread spiritual values, RCOEM invited reverend Shri Vijay Kushalji Maharaj of Vrindavan to deliver spiritual discourse on Ram Katha . All the stakeholders of the college wholeheartedly participated in the spiritual event. The discourses which lasted from 11th January to 18th January 2016 drew more than 10,000 devotees from Nagpur and adjacent areas. Entire campus was sanctified by holy presence of Maharaji, his enchanting discourses in the presence of 1000’s of devotees.

Youth Week :-

Youth Week was celebrated from 12th to 16th January 2015 to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Awareness was created among the students by talks and by displaying posters to draw their attention towards the ill-effects of smoking, drugs, etc…..Students were motivated to channelize their time and energy in creative task drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda. More than 200 students were a part of this event.


Wall magazine Inauguration:-

Teacher’s day was celebrated by inaugurating the wall Magazine in the department of Electronics Engineering at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management. Mr Tejas Moonje Assistant Commissioner of Police (Intelligence Service) inaugurated the Magazine. Dr. (Mrs.) A.A. Khurshid Head of the Department, faculty members and students were prominently present on the occasion .The wall magazines comprise of technical, art and literary sections.


GRAFFITI wall design:-

Fantastic Art Work Concept has been initialized in year 2014-2015 called as GRAFFITI WALL. This concept is being brought up for several Social causes in collaboration with a Social Organization Aagaz. The Graffiti wall was design by students of Electronics Engineering near Electronics building and near RCOEM playground Management of RCOEM, Principal Dr. R.S.Pande, HOD Dr. (Mrs) A.A. Khurshid and faculty members congratulated Electrolitz –students Society for this noble gesture.


Stationary donation on teacher’s day:-

SEVA DISHA a Social responsibility cell of Electrolitz- Students’ Society of Electronics Engineering department donated school stationary and sporting equipments to platform school students on 5th Sept 2014. A Platform Gyan Mandir is the residential school run by Vishwa Hindu Jankalyan Parishad in association with Nagpur Municipal Corporation & Nagpur Railway Police at Bajeriya , near Santra Market Railway Gate. Electrolitz society in charges Prof. B.M Hardas, Prof. Gouri Morankar and Society President Pratik Jhawar and his team distributed material to students. Management of RCOEM, Principal Dr. R.S.Pande, HOD, Dr.(Mrs)A.A.Khurshid and Faculty members congratulated Electrolitz-Students’ Society for this noble gesture.

Clothes donation to Nepal Earthquake Victims:-

SEVA DISHA a social responsibility cell of Electrolitz- Student’s Society of Electronics Engineering department donated clothes and other material to Devi Ahilya Mandir Samrak Samiti for the support of people in Nepal following the devastating earthquake. The clothes were sent to Nepal via workers of Rashtra Sewika Samiti and Sewa Bharati.


Annakoot:-

Every year in the month of Kartik Annakoot is observed by in RCOEM campus. The pooja starts in the gracious presence of Chairman Shri Banwarilal Purohit and other management members. The Principal, HODs, Faculty, and students actively participate in this religious festival. As a social commitment, free meals are served over 10,000 devotees on this occasion. Prayers are offered for the wellbeing of all seeking the blessings of Shri Ramdeobaba.


Mission Education Program:-

In its endeavour to teach students moral values and their responsibilities towards society, Department of Information Technology along with the NSS unit of the college joined hands with the “Mission Education” program of Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti, Nagpur.Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti (M.U.S.S.) is an all-India registered voluntary social welfare and charitable organization. Under this program, two stationary donation boxes were installed at the college premises on 18th April 2016 to collect stationary material from the students and staff. This material will be distributed to the under privileged school going kids in and around Nagpur. One of the boxes has been installed at IT Department and the other at G-Block of the college. The first collection of stationary material from the two boxes was handed over to the volunteers of the samiti on 30th May 2016. The samiti has given a certificate to the college appreciating the lead taken by them in promoting the Mission Education Program.

Good Governance Day:-

Good Governance Day on 25th December, the birth date of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Bajpai, Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management organized an inter-branch elocution Competition on “Technology and Innovation to promote Good Governance” on 24th December 2014. More than 20 students from different branches discussed the current and future role of technology and innovation in good governance in India. The competition was organized under agies of Readers’ Reverie, a Readers’ club hosted by Department of Humanities of RCOEM.

Shri Govindlalji Agrawal, General Secretary of RCOEM congratulated the students for logically expressing their views on the topic of Good Governance. Dr. Rajesh Pande, the Principal of the college expressed satisfaction that awareness about Good Governance among students will pave the path for the development of the nation and the society. Dr. V.H. Asudani, Head, Department of Humanities, in his introductory remarks emphasized the importance of such competitions which not only promote communication skills among students but also orient them in important skills such as Good Governance. The winners were given cash prizes of Rs.15000/-, Rs.10000/- and Rs.5000/- respectively.


Constitution Day:-

Constitution Day was observed by Department of Humanities in collaboration with SRC of college on 26th November 2015. Students collectively read out the preamble of the constitution. On this occasion Principal, Dr. R.S.Pande , Dean SRC Prof. Sangeet Deshmukh, HOD Humanities Dr.V.H.Asudani and HOD Physical Education Dr.S.Dogra were prominently present.


Constitution Week :-

As a part of celebration of 125th Birth year of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Readers’Riverie Literary Club of the college organised week long activities to create awareness about the significant work done by Dr. B.R Ambedkar as the architect of Indian Constitution. The various activities which were organised included Hindi Elocution, English Elocution , Quiz, Youth Parliament etc……..More than 100 students participated in these activities, which concluded on 14th January 2016.


Helping the Blind :-

Department of Humanities realises the social responsibility towards differently able students. The small projects and models which are prepared by the students of RCOEM are donated to the blind school with the objective that the blind students will learn many things by exploring these models. Dr.V.H.Asudani who has overcome his visually impairment by achieving extra ordinary achievement orients the blind students free of charge to help them to face competitive examinations.


JASHN, a step towards inclusive society :-

Realising its social commitment, RCOEM continually makes efforts to include even the marginalised sections of society in the ongoing process of social development. Department of management Technology, for last 2 years, organises the annual event JASHN to provide platform to differently able and orphan children to showcase their talent and be the part of main stream of society. This program was organised in the month of February 2016 for this year – Let’s Live it Together in the College campus . Jashn celebrated the joy of giving and receiving. For it is in giving, that we receive The children were taught crafts like bamboo work, decorative paper bags, quilling items, greeting cards, etc. The products made as a result of the workshops were displayed through stalls and each of these items sold like hot cakes. Drawing competition in the morning and a Cultural Program in the evening was organized, where there were 150 participating children. The Drawing Competition had three age groups of – 5-10, 11-14, 15 – 18 and three prizes in each. The Cultural Program, which included a dance competition wherein there were 9 competing teams along with 2 special performances by Matru Seva Sangh and Shradhanand Peth Anathalay. Bharat Muk Badhir bagged the first prize whereas the spirited young boys of Yuvajyothi placed second. The children were from 10 institutes/orphanages namely, Matru Seva Sangh, Shri Kisan Muk Badhir, Shaskiye Mulanche Balgruh, Shradhanand Peth Anathalaya, Sarojini Chari Memorial, Jeevan Ashray Aashram, Bharat Muk Badhir Vidyalaya, Yuvajyothi, Prayas and Roshan Bal Sadan. The organizing team even initiated a successful raddi (scrap) campaign, collecting approximately 5000 kgs of scrap to raise funds for the event.
