M.Tech in Power Electronics & Power System:

This is a full-time, four-semester post-graduate programme offered by the department of Electrical Engineering. The programme curriculum is designed as per Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). By virtue of academic autonomy granted by University Grant Commission, New Delhi and Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University to this institute, the curriculum is updated regularly considering the need of industry and with emphasis on recent developments in power electronics and power system. It includes many initiatives which help in nurturing the knowledge in core engineering as well as in allied areas related to electrical engineering. Provision for industry based project as well as a one-year long internship in industry is also available to enhance the employability of students. The teaching learning process is based on student centric approach. The laboratory and project activities are designed to develop the skill set of students which includes simulation skills, communication/presentation skills (both in verbal and written forms), hardware design, fabrication, testing, ability to analyze the given engineering task/problem, research methods etc. In addition, the students get enough academic flexibility to select the electives of their choice (core elective, group elective, open elective) and internship as well as projects.
Students are provided the opportunity to undergo One-Semester or One-Year long internship in industry or work on the research project in other institutes of ranking higher than RCOEM. After successful completion of the programme at RCOEM, the Degree is awarded by R.T.M. Nagpur University to the students.
