B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering is a full-time, eight-semester, under-graduate programme offered by the department of Electrical Engineering. The programme curriculum is designed as per model curriculum proposed by the AICTE and the National Education Policy NEP-2020. By virtue of Academic Autonomy granted by UGC, New Delhi and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University to this institute, the curriculum is updated with emphasis on recent technological developments and current need of industry. The curriculum is blended with fundamentals of science, engineering skills, core electrical engineering concepts, programming & simulation skills, hardware skills, provision to select electives of choice from electrical as well as all other disciplines of engineering, management and computer science engineering as well as a scope to study the courses belonging to languages (Indian and Foreign), and Liberal Arts (Fine/ Performing arts etc).

Over and above the base curriculum, desirous students can also select to go for:
  • Honors in Electrical Engineering or
  • Honors in Electrical Engineering with Research.
  • Double Minor Specialization in any other discipline including CSE and IT.
Students can also opt to complete one semester from any other higher ranked university in India and abroad. They are also permitted to spend eighth semester in industry/IITs/Research organisations for undergoing internship and projects. Over and above, desirous students are permitted credit transfer against elective by completing online courses hosted by IITs and top universities worldwide. Those having an idea for setting start-ups are allowed to dedicate the eighth semester of the programme for this purpose and appropriate support with guidance is provided to such students. In addition, the innovative features of NEP-2020 are also incorporated in the curriculum structure. The prominent ones are:
  • Option of Multiple exits leading to UG Certificate after 1st year, UG Diploma after 2nd year, B.Voc./BSc (Engg.) after 3rd year and B.Tech after 4th year.
  • Option of Multiple entry
  • Credit Mobility
